Description
A whole day inshore fishing for mixed species including pollack, bass, bream, cod, gurnard, congers, plaice, rays, wrasse, huss, and more.
If you are bringing your own tackle then here is what you are likely to need.
Rods and reels – keep it light you will not need more than a 20-30lb class rod most regulars bring a light long quiver tips style rod with a fixed spool and a 12 or 20lb class boat rod with a small to medium multiplier, mainline should be 30-50lb braid.
Rigs and tackle – keep it simple, 2-3 hook paternoster rigs or 1 up 1 down rigs will catch most species, a lot of the summer fishing is at anchor, hooks between size 4 and 4/0 line strength between 20lb and 80lb CLEAR TRACE LINE is a must!
Leads between 2oz and 10oz don’t bring loads I keep a good stock aboard.
Be sure to bring some lures as well, best fished on Portland rigs, smaller 4 or 5 inch lures tend to work best, expect Pollack and Cod in the spring and Bass in the autumn. Slow jigging can be very effective with the right conditions. most of our fishing is in under 100ft of water.
